  • On your HDR tv make sure if you run a tv that supports 1.4 2.2 hdcp switching you set your hdmi to enhanced (as per my sony xbr tv). Once the 2.2 is set the hdr will trigger the tv and will lock you out of the color settings and show hdr active on your tv. Windows desktop will go flat grey.

Using the above I get really good HDR in all games apart from Mass Effect which now appears to be broken. HDR is broken on Nvidia cards unfortunately and whoever says it’s working fine for them either lie or can’t see awful colour banding. The best option (still broken) is 12bit 4:2:0 as this mode suffers from least banding.
